Constructed Wetlands Systems (CWS) are increasingly recognized as a key Nature-Based Stormwater Solution (NbSS) for sustainable stormwater management, particularly water quality control. As urbanization intensifies and water pollution challenges grow, there is a pressing need for cost-effective, resilient, and ecologically sound treatment systems. This one-day pre-conference workshop provides a comprehensive understanding of the concept, design principles, and practical applications of constructed wetlands in Malaysia. The course integrates global case studies, Malaysian applications, and design guidelines, with a strong focus on filter media selection, plant species optimization, hydraulic design, and pollutant removal mechanisms. Participants will also gain exposure in a hands-on design session, enabling them to translate theory into practical engineering solutions.
